Learn With Us

At Beth Shalom Congregation, we make opportunities for lifelong learning a high priority and strive to provide the widest possible range of programming for our members and the community. While the Religious School for Kindergarten through 10th grade (Confirmation) is a focal point of our education program, we also offer options for all ages as formal courses, an annual scholar-in-residence program and an abundance of speaker programs on the widest range of topics. Under the leadership of Dr. Louis Nagel, our education program is continually striving to offer the best learning opportunities to the Beth Shalom community.

Religious School

Known as "The Religious School that's fun to go to" our Religious School Program for Kindergarten through 7th grade has all students meet every Sunday during the school year. The 3rd-7th grades also meet on Wednesdays. Under the guidance of a creative and skilled faculty, the students learn about Jewish culture, rituals, history and the basics of reading and speaking the Hebrew language.

Hebrew High School

We are proud to have a vibrant Hebrew High program. Classes meet on Sunday evenings and include both core courses and electives. Prior to each session students also have an opportunity to gather for dinner. Each semester will also feature a class trip to an exciting location in the Baltimore/Washington Area or beyond.

Adult Education

At Beth Shalom Congregation we believe that Jewish learning is a life-long process. Under the leadership of our Adult Ed chairs we are pleased to be able to offer a variety of engaging and inspiring programs to the adults of our community. With opportunities during Shabbat services and at other times of the week, there is sure to be something to engage your interest.

Youth Programming

We have a wide variety of youth programs for all ages, from birth through High School. As a Conservative congregation, we are able to offer regional and national USY and Kadima programming to students in the 6th-12th grades in addition to our own local events.
