At Beth Shalom Congregation, we take education very seriously and strive to provide the widest possible range of programming for our members and the community. While the Religious School for Kindergarten through 7th grade is a focal point of our education program, we also offer options for all ages and informal education options as well. Under the leadership of Rabbi Daniel Plotkin, our education program is continually stiving to bring the absolute best to Beth Shalom.
Known as "The Religious School that's fun to go to" our Religious School Program for Kindergarten through 7th grade has all students meet every Sunday during the school year and the 3rd-7th grade also meets on Wednesdays. Under the guidance of a creative and skilled faculty, the students learn about Jewish culture, rituals, history and the basics of reading and speaking the Hebrew language.
We are proud to have intorduced a brand new Hebrew High School program this fall. The program meets 8-10 Sunday nights a semester and includes both core classes and electives for the students. Prior to each session students also have an opportunity to gether for dinner. Each semester will also feature a class trip to an exciting location in the Baltimore/Washington Area or beyond.
At Beth Shalom Congregation we believe that Jewish learning is a life-long process. Under the leadership of our Adult Ed chairs we are pleased to be able to offer a variety of engaging and inspiring programs to the adults of our community. With oppportunities during Shabbat services and at other times of the week, there is sure to be something to engage your interest.
We have a wide variety of youth programs for all ages, from birth through High School. As a Conservative congregation, we are able to offer regional and national USY and Kadima programming to students in the 6th-12th grades in addition to our own local events.
