Who is wise? One who learns from every person.

Dear Religious School Families,
We are honored and pleased that you have chosen to entrust Beth Shalom Religious School with your child(ren)’s formal Jewish education. It is a special privilege to be able to serve in this important role for our students, and we will strive to give your child(ren) the most enriching experience possible in our time together.
We are looking forward to another exciting year for our Religious School. We will further develop our Jewish cultural enrichment programs (art, drama and music) and holiday celebrations. Our mid-week (3rd-5thgrades) J.E.W. -Jewish Experiential Wednesdays will continue to flourish and our already outstanding Tefillah-Hebrew program will be further strengthened. Curriculum enhancements, new programs and other changes will be announced over the summer. In addition, our commitment to ongoing teacher professional development will continue to be a high priority.
We will also build on another exceptional year for our Hebrew High program with a tikkun olam (social action) component, Israel advocacy and topical seminars. This year’s annual trip will be to New York. Our curriculum facilitates teens’ exploration of Judaism beyond the foundation established in their pre-Bar/Bat Mitzvah studies, pursuing a deeper more sophisticated personal understanding of what it means to be Jewish.
This registration form also gives you the opportunity to sign your child(ren) up for Youth Group. These programs seek to connect our students to each other outside of our Religious School program. We offer the following youth groups:
- Shoreshim for families with children from birth through pre-school (no membership fee)
- Mishpacha for families with children in Kindergarten through 4th Grade ($15 per family)
- Kadima for children in 5th-8th grade (5th graders local events only, 6th-8th have regional events they may attend) ($35 per student)
- United Synagogue Youth (USY) for High School students (8th graders are welcome to attend local events) ($45 per student)
This year our REGISTRATION FORM is an online process. Please drop off or mail your deposit/tuition check and payment forms to: Beth Shalom Religious School (8070 Harriet Tubman Lane, Columbia, MD 21044).
Please note: Tuition does not cover all of the expenses of the Beth Shalom Religious School. If you are able, please consider an additional donation to help provide scholarships to students in need and supplies for enrichment activities. Our program has been significantly enhanced by these donations.
Families new to our Religious School qualify for the Early Bird discount.
